I worked as a 4th Grade Two-Way Dual Language (Spanish-English Bilingual) teacher in Austin, Texas. I have three years of experience teaching at the elementary school level (Grade 4) in an all inclusive setting. I have a degree in Early Childhood-6th grade Education – Bilingual Generalist with a concentration in Spanish language. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development. Currently, I am in the process of obtaining a M.S. in Bilingual Speech Pathology.
Experience
I have previously tutored middle school-aged and students in English/Math/Social Studies (Metz Recreational Center after-school Program; Austin, Texas). I have also led and taught a summer Spanish Immersion program at the elementary level (Grades 3-5) designed for students whose second language is Spanish. I absolutely love my job as a teacher and value the pursuit of knowledge at any age. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to help individuals discover that same passion for learning. As a tutor, I strive to create a personal relationship with each of my students/clients. My goal is not only to help guide my student/client to a true understanding of the material he/she is seeking to learn, but also to provide the necessary tools he/she will need in order to be a successful independent learner.
